On June 22nd, Bond’s Grade 12 students had their 2017 Graduation Ceremony to celebrate their achievements of the year.
The Ceremony started with a welcome from Phil Davies, Vice Principal of Bond. Graduation is not just an end; it is a new beginning! This was a very exciting day for all of us, especially for our 110 graduates.
“Regardless of how long you’ve been at Bond, we’ve all developed lifelong friendships whether it’s through living with friends at residence, or making memories together. Looking back on my time at Bond, it’s been an experience I’ll never forget. The teachers here are so reliable, kind and are willing to help you with whatever you need.” said Nasry, the Valedictorian of Bond’s Graduating Class of 2017. “Follow your passion wherever it leads you and set the world ablaze. Life is too short to live by someone else’s rules and expectations, so make sure you do something that will make you happy.”
Two of our international students, Lucy and George, shared their own experiences of how to overcome challenges in life, and passed on the advice to everyone. “Never give up in the face of a challenge. Believe that you can get through any difficulties you face. Being afraid doesn’t mean you should give up, just the opposite; use your feelings to push yourself towards success, and always stay positive.”
They finished with a quotation by Paulo Coelho: “When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back.”
Congratulations, Class of 2017! Reach for the stars and never give up! We are very proud of every one of you!
