Starting Thursday, October 12 through to the evening of Friday, October 13, more than 100 drama students took part in the second annual LCS 24-hour project. The project began with student writers creating eight scripts between 6:00 p.m. and midnight on Thursday. At 7:00 a.m. the nineteen Grade 12 directors arrived in the theatre to choose their script and cast their show. Grade 9,10 and 11 students auditioned and were cast shortly after.
The rest of the day was spent blocking, memorizing lines, costuming and having tech rehearsals. At 7:00 p.m. the plays took the stage to a full house of staff, students, family and community members. Ms. McElwain, Ms. St. John, Ms. Reinhard and Mrs. Bemrose were extremely impressed with the creativity, growth, learning, and commitment the drama students exhibited both on and off-stage. Mr. Bemrose was very proud of the professionalism of the student tech crew. Congrats to all writers, directors, technicians, actors and backstage crew who took a risk and were a part of a magical day.
