On January 18th, Lisa Bowen, the Author of the book “Eli’s First Winter Carnival”, visited Bond, and did a reading of her book to our students from Montessori to Grade Two.
The story of the book is about a boy named Eli. Little Eli is very excited about going to his first winter carnival. He enjoys making snow angels, riding on a toboggan and helping his family make the goofiest snowman ever. When Eli gets back home, he has a cozy time with family before falling sleeping thinking about his wonderful day.
Students were excited about this opportunity to get the signed books. Ms. Bowen also donated a copy of her book to the library at Bond for all the students to enjoy.
“I just want the kids to believe in themselves, and that anything is possible. I think it is important for the kids to build strong friendships and just be there for each other.” said Lisa Bowen, the Author and Homeschool Coach. “So this book is about friendship and having fun, which are the most important things at their age. That is the meaning behind the story.”
