From May 3rd to 5th, our Bond Badminton teams attended three SSAF Badminton Finals with students participating in the age groups under 20 years old, under 14 years old and under 12 years old. All the teams played hard competing against other private schools from Toronto.
The Bond players competed in every category, including boys’ singles, girls’ singles, boys’ doubles, girls’ doubles, and mixed doubles.
“Everyone played really well.” said Mr. Allen, a Music Teacher and the Coach of the U14 Badminton Team at Bond. “We understand it was a couple of long days of competition. The strategy for our players today is to stay focused during the games, and not to get emotional. I think we played excellently in the games, and I’m very proud of our players.”
“Most of our doubles players and mixed doubles players have improved a lot. They played beautifully, and gave it all.” said Mrs. Srikanth, a Bond parent who has been kindly volunteering to coach the school’s Badminton teams.
Congratulations to Irina Belgorodskii and Laura Rumeo for winning the Silver medal in the U20 Girls’ Doubles, Keona Fontaine and Michelle Hack for winning the Silver medal in the U14 Girls’ Doubles, and Shreya Srikanth for winning the Gold medal in the U12 Girls’ Singles. Go Bond Go!
