December 3rd, our Bond Secondary students, together with 12 other schools, participated in the SSAF U20 Boys Indoor Soccer Tournament.
“This is my third year coaching them. Overall, we have improved this year. ” said Phil Davies, a High School Teacher and the Soccer Coach at Bond. “This team has a great attitude, and really comes together as a team. Not only do they support the three coaches, but they also support each other.”
“I really enjoyed seeing the support for our teammates who were playing, by everyone on the bench cheering them on.” said Jeremy Keetch, another High School Teacher and Soccer Coach at Bond.
When asked what impressed the coaches during the games, Lennert Vonk, the other Bond Teacher and Soccer Coach, mentioned that it was really fun to see the boys develop. He gave an example: “When Indio Daniels first started to play soccer, he was okay. But when we gave him some support, he improved a lot and become amazing. I think that is the most rewarding part of the whole process.”
The boys really played hard, and we were happy with all of their efforts.” The coaches agreed that the team’s confidence improved, so they played like they could be number one on the field. With more preparation in the future, we believe the Bond soccer team will improve and be stronger! Go Bond, Go!
