On Tuesday, May 26th, Bond’s Grade 7, 8 and 9 students participated in a Teambuilding workshop at Lakeridge Ski Resort, accompanied by Mrs. Levine, Mrs. Tombler, Mrs. Ha, Mr. Quigley and Mr. Davies.
The purpose of the trip was to build a stronger BOND between our elementary and secondary school students, while participating in a series of activities that stressed the importance of teamwork, communication and problem solving skills.
The students were divided into 4 groups, each with their own name, colours and symbols, and the students competed in Survivor games during the am session. These games required the students to work effectively together to solve a series of mental and physical challenges.
The afternoon session featured climbing walls and an obstacle course, which required students to put their teamwork skills to further use in the spirit of fun and sportsmanship.
“The entire day was a success due to the hard work and effective teambuilding atmosphere put forth by Bond students and staff,” said event organizer; Phil Davies.
Furthermore, many of the Bond students really enjoyed the day and learned a lot as evidenced by these student testimonials:
I had an amazing time at Lake Ridge! I felt really involved in all of the activities and did things that I have never done before. I learned that in order to go far, we all need to learn how to work as a team. Thank you to everyone who helped organize the trip to Lake Ridge and we hope to go again next year!
John Hachey:
I had an unforgettable experience at Lake Ridge! It reminded me that I can accomplish a lot on my own, however as a team, we can work to getting even more done!
Robert Lauzon:
My experience at Lake Ridge was great! I overcame many fears and pushed myself to different limits. I made many memories and unforgettable times with my friends. I wish I could go back again!
