As the holidays are on their way, Bond Academy Choir continues one of its annual holiday traditions – visiting Senior’s Homes. On December 14th and 15th, 18 members of the Bond Senior Choir, together with their teachers Ms. Laura Harvey and Ms. Teri Cathcart, visited Scarborough Retirement Centre and Craiglee Nursing Home.
The Bond Senior Choir performed Christmas carols which the residents and the employees enjoyed very much. “We have had this tradition for a few years. Every year, we visit senior’s homes to bring them some happiness during the holidays. We see their smiles every time when we visit. People really love to see our students perform. I believe that it is a good experience for our students as well because they can see the real world from a different perspective. ” said Ms. Harvey, the Vocal Music Teacher at Bond Academy.
Ms. Harvey handed out the lyrics sheets and small instruments to the residents. She also invited the audience to sing along with the Bond Senior Choir. Some of the audience was clapping, some were singing, and some were even dancing with the music. The room was filled with Bond students’ beautiful singing and everyone had the holiday spirit.
