On November 27th, Bond's U14 Boys' Volleyball team competed with the top four teams in the South Division and the top four teams in the North Division at the SSAF 2017-2018 Elementary Boys Volleyball Championships in Vaughan.
In game one, versus University of Toronto Schools, Bond won 25-9 and 25-22. In game two, versus Toronto Waldorf School, Bond won 25-11 and 25-21. Game three was against Richmond Hill Montessori School and Bond lost two sets 21-25 and 19-25.
After placing second in pool A of the round robin, Bond faced Aurora Preparatory Academy in the semi-finals. The teams were very evenly matched and it was an extremely close game but Bond pulled together and was able to defeat APA in three exhilarating and nerve-racking sets, losing the first 25-27 and then winning the next two 28-26 and 17-15.
Bond advanced to the finals and once again came face-to-face with RHMS, the tournament's top seeded team. It was a fierce competition but, unfortunately, RHMS was victorious in two sets to win the banner.
Bond's U14 Boys' Volleyball team finished the regular season with seven wins and three losses and placed second in the South Division. All of the boys did a superb job during the Championships, showing grit and determination and playing their hearts out.
Congratulations to the Boys' U14 Volleyball team for winning silver and placing second in the SSAF! Special mention to Team Captain Saugat for his effort and dedication, and special thanks to Przemek, a Bond secondary student, for his help with coaching the team throughout the season. And a very big thank you to Coach Mr. Kobylski for leading Bond's first Boys' Volleyball team in 10 years to the Finals.
We are all very proud of your accomplishment! Go Bond Go!
