On April 8th, Bond's Senior Choir sang the Canadian national anthem for the Toronto Marlies hockey game. The choir wowed the audience singing in two-part harmony and with difficult rhythmic entries. Their performance appeared on Leafs TV and the arena jumbotron.
“It was our first time singing at a Toronto Marlies game. We practiced once a week for about a month, with a few extra practices leading up to the performance.” said Ms. Laura Harvey, Bond Vocal Teacher. “The Senior Choir did an amazing job! They watched me for their entrances and rhythms. They sang in tune and pronounced the beginning and ending consonants of important words. They sang confidently and proudly!”
Ms. Harvey mentioned that Bond’s Senior Choir received many compliments from audience members throughout the game. “People approached some of the choir members when they were out to get snacks during intermission and told our members how much they enjoyed their singing of O Canada.”
Way to go Bond’s Senior Choir! We are so proud of each and every one of you!
A big thank-you goes to Ms. Harvey and Ms. Cathcart for their dedicated work, and Bond parents for all their kind support!
