After 30 years of invaluable service to Upper Canada College, Chantal Kenny, executive director of admission, has decided to retire at the end of this academic year.
Since joining UCC in 1987, Chantal has had a tremendous impact on our community. She has served as a teacher, form master, head of the French department, coach, author, executive director and parent (François ’12). In addition, Chantal has sat on a number of committees including the College’s executive team, the Prep administration team, and the financial assistance committee.
For the past 14 years, Chantal has worked tirelessly to shape the diverse and accomplished community of UCC students who attend the Prep and Upper School, and those in our boarding program. Chantal’s unique ability to understand the needs of parents and boys, her institutional knowledge and problem-solving abilities, and her commitment to the continuous improvement of our admission systems and processes, distinguish her as a leader in her field. Chantal has earned wide-spread respect and appreciation from our students, parents, faculty and staff. In particular, we have valued her dedication, professionalism, grace and genuine warmth. Indeed, these qualities will be what we miss most.
“On behalf of everyone at the College, I would like to thank Chantal and wish her well as this new and exciting chapter of her life draws near,” says Principal Sam McKinney. “UCC will have opportunities to celebrate Chantal and her contributions to UCC through the process of our year-end events, prior to her last day, June 30. In the meantime, please join me in saying thank you and best wishes to Chantal.”
