“Last year, we hoped to make sending letters to the Canadian Armed Forces a yearly tradition at the Academy. This year and upon request from grade 3 students who sent Christmas cards in 2019, grades 2 and 3 students prepared cards to show their respect and gratitude to the Canadian Forces.
For the 2nd consecutive year, our students were excited to choose the cards. They thanked the soldiers for keeping Canadians safe during the pandemic and protecting their lovely country. In addition, the students wrote letters introducing themselves. They added Christmas wishes, hoping that the soldiers come home safely and be with their loved ones. Then they coloured the page borders of the letters and decorated the cards with Christmas stickers and related drawings. Finally, they wrote the school and the Canadian Forces addresses, stamped the envelopes and sealed them, making sure the 33 cards were ready to be mailed.
The cards will be delivered around Christmas time to “Any Canadian Armed Forces Member” who is deployed this time of year.
The school hopes these cards will bring joy to each member who receives one as this activity fills the hearts of our students with gratitude and a great sense of giving at Christmas time.”
Merci, Mme Mireille, pour ce geste de civilité, de votre part et de celle de vos chers élèves des CE2 et CE3, grandement apprécié !
