CCIA students took the afternoon on Friday September 16th, 2016 to get out in the countryside to pick Cortland, Mcintosh, and Gala apples at Pingle Farm in Courtice. They also enjoyed the delicious taste of Kawartha ice-cream! It was a great opportunity for our International and local students to be outside to get some fresh air, and fresh experiences. Thanks to all the friendly staff at Pingle Farm for making our visit fun! Since the Honeycrisp apples were not ready for picking, we may need to consider returning for a second visit. Students look forward to all the 'baked apple goodies' they will be cooking in the following week! Our students enjoy the time together when preparing food as well as the opportunity to explore and experience food from different cultural backgrounds. Since cooking classes begun at CCIA, it has promoted interest not only about our local communities but the world as a whole.
