“How is Grade 9 at Bond?” many Grade 8 students ask this question. In order for them to have an idea, last Thursday, November 5th, they were encouraged to join the Grade 9 Day and experience the classes with other Grade 9 students at Bond.
“Grade 9 Day is an annual tradition at Bond. It is a continuation of our efforts to build a stronger sense of community between our Elementary and Secondary students.” said Phil Davies, a Bond Secondary School Teacher.
The students attended some engaging classes during the day, including Science class with Alex Papini, Math and Computer class with Joshua Boldt, Gym class with Royal Carney, Business class with Ryan Quigley, Geography class with Phil Davies, and an information session with Jane Phillips, Head of Guidance.
Group activities encouraged each to know one another better and make stronger connections in team work. Teachers asked two trivia questions based on their lessons, and the students who correctly answered the most questions received prizes at the end of the day.
“It is a great group of students!” Mr. Davies added, “I am glad to know that everyone enjoyed this Grade 9 Day.”
“A very good day and a follow up of a positive evening session with parents of Grade 8.” said Jeffrey Farber, the Principal of Bond Secondary School. “Thanks to Jane Phillips, Phil Davies for the organization, the teachers for their classroom lessons and time on behalf of all the staff at Bond by spreading the good news!”
