Recently, our Grade 3-8 students completed the Canadian Test of Basic Skills (CTBS) for their respective grades. The CTBS has been around since 1971 and has had millions of school children complete the test over the ensuing decades. The CTBS measures student achievement in the areas of Reading, Language, and Math.
As an elementary school, Hudson has ranked in the 99th percentile in our Math scores nationally! Put simply, that means our wonderfully bright and talented Hudson students have scored higher than 99% of the tens of thousands of students who have completed the CTBS nationally. These results are tremendous!
These results also reaffirm a few things. First, the decision to switch to Saxon Math has been a resounding success. The augmentation of the math program with iXL and Jump Math is also helping to reinforce our students’ fundamental Math skills. The hard work and dedication of our teachers has been integral to the individual improvement and strengthening of our students mathematical skills. The hard work, solid efforts, and overwhelmingly positive attitude towards Math amongst our students has played a key role in their collective improvement.
Great work Huskies!
