On September 29th Lynn-Rose Heights students participated in the Annual Terry Fox Run. All students and staff showed their support for this fantastic fundraising event by walking, running or participating in activities to raise their awareness on who Terry Fox was and his contributions to cancer research. The JK/SK students were engaged in group activities using the parachute, hoop toss and exercises to keep active! Students in grades 1-9 began with a pep rally and then headed out on their walk or run. As many families are touched by cancer, students were able to show their support for loved ones by indicating who they were running for on their stickers they wore throughout the event. 37 years ago Terry Fox ran for 143 days from St. John’s to Thunder Bay in his Marathon of Hope. Terry’s dream was that his Marathon of Hope would continue without him. Lynn-Rose Heights students continue to honour his legacy by raising funds and awareness. This year LRH students and families raised $4,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Way to go Lynn-Rose Heights!
