The grade 12 McEwen Leadership class participated in a full day workshop on Executive Presence Training.
The seminar was implemented by Ms. Diane Craig, President of Corporate Class Inc., North America’s premier provider of guidance and training in the areas of Business Etiquette, International Protocol, Dining, and Dress.
The business etiquette training workshop featured the following key topics:
The workshop was well-received by the McEwen Leadership students. “I found learning about the ABC’s of small talk very useful,” said Luca Zadra ’17. “I look forward to using this technique when I attend the QLEAD Conference at Queen’s University later this month.”
Greg Hoogers ’17 agreed, adding that “I will be attending a wide variety of formal events this year, and knowing the basics of dining etiquette is going to help me feel more comfortable.”
“It was surprising to me how much emphasis needs to be placed on personal grooming and making an impactful first impression,” said Nicholas Theodorakakis ’17. “Several of the tips and tricks mentioned during the training session will definitely stick with me as I head to job interviews and apply for university programs.”
The Executive Presence Training is one of many events planned for grade 12 McEwen Leadership students this year. The course is a key element of the McEwen Leadership program, an academic program modelled after the vision of Old Boy Rob McEwen ’69.
