Erin McMahon is an Albert College Day student parent. Her daughters, Ella & Jenna, have attended Albert College since Junior Kindergarten. The McMahon’s continue to enroll their children at Albert College because they appreciate the support that the AC community offers their family. “We’ve witnessed the Albert advantage time and again, and especially during the recent global pandemic,” says McMahon in response to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, where Albert College, like most schools, was required to close their doors. Albert College quickly pivoted to provide a daily remote learning program to their students for the remainder of the school year.
“Last spring’s online programming at Albert College ensured that our daughters had at least a few hours of direct contact with their teachers, each weekday. Extra work was provided, along with fun opportunities to enhance their physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing.”
McMahon does recognize that the shutdown was a difficult time for teachers, students and parents alike. "Our kids missed their peers and the school environment, but it was the little things, like when the Director of the Middle School dropped off a workbook to our home that benefited our youngest daughter”. The McMahon’s, like most families, had their concerns around health and safety and the economy. “We certainly did not worry about our girls’ academics during a global pandemic.” Further, McMahon says “The peace of mind that Albert College offered us, allowed us to focus on other challenges.”
“We appreciate all that AC offers our family. The support is incredibly appreciated. Our kids will continue to be a part of the AC family until they graduate.”
