“The grade 2 students’ Christmas cards are on their way to be sent out to soldiers, joining thousands of other cards that have been written in the week since the Canadian Armed Forces put out a call to Canadians on Twitter.
The cards will be delivered in the coming days to “Any Canadian Armed Forces Member” who will not make it home for Christmas.
Our students were eager to choose the cards and write about their gratitude towards the work done by soldiers to keep them safe and to keep Canada a peaceful country. They wrote Christmas wishes, hoping that the soldiers come home safely and be with their loved ones. Then they decorated the cards with colourful stickers and nice drawings. Finally, they stamped the envelopes and sealed them.
The school hopes these cards will bring joy to each person who receives one.We also hope this can become a yearly tradition at the Academy giving the chance to students to continuously show their respect and gratitude to the Canadian Forces.”
