March 10, 2014 - Duncan, BC, Canada – Servite Fortier (Serve Ye Bravely in Latin) is the motto of Queen Margaret’s School. This April, a school alumni event will focus on this theme and feature a well known grad from the Vancouver Island independent school, the Honourable Suzanne Anton, QC.
Queen Margaret’s School (QMS) will be welcoming all former students, faculty, staff and current Grade 12 students to an afternoon reception on Saturday, April 5, 2014. The Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Suzanne Anton attended QMS and will be the guest speaker. “We are so excited that Ms. Anton will join us for this special event,” explains Tracy Arden, Director of Development at QMS. “Ms. Anton’s display of personal and professional determination to serve the people of British Columbia is an inspiring example to our students.”
After graduating from QMS in 1970, Suzanne Anton (neé Williams) attended the University of Victoria to earn a degree in mathematics, and completed a degree in law at UBC. Anton’s political career has included terms on the Vancouver City Council, the Vancouver Parks Board, TransLink and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. Anton’s day to speak in front of her alma mater will focus on the school’s motto of service to others.

Queen Margaret’s School will be hosting the Vancouver Alumni Afternoon Reception for alumni and their families on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Horizons Restaurant, 100 Centennial Way, Burnaby, BC.
