Once again under the direction of Captain Paul Preikschas, QDJM, CD, Bond Education group participated in a moving and educational ceremony to honour those who have served our country, and are serving our country today, on November 11th, 2014.
Our outstanding Band opened the event by playing "O Canada". Mr. Healey, our elementary principal, shared a sensitive message reminding us of the sacrifices made on our behalf by those serving in the military. The choir sang the "Song of Peace" followed by John Hachey, grade 8 reciting "The Inquisitive Mind of a Child". Mark Qi, Grade 12, read "They All Call It Canada". Captain Preikschas shared "The Story of Remembrance” followed by the very stirring music video "A Pittance of Time". This was followed by the traditional "Last Post", a moment of silence and the Rouse. The wreath in honour of those who have sacrificed their lives was laid by Ali Alwani, Grade 9 and Armaan Sadruddin, Grade 4.
Our show choir sang "God Save the Queen" followed by closing remarks by Mr. Healey. Mr. Healey made special mention of the wonderful behaviour of our students and the respect they showed through out the ceremony. It was especially gratifying to have all the students, teachers, business staff and many parents together to participate in this most significant ceremony. Thank you especially to Captain Preikschas for organizing everything.
