Dear Parents Committee members,
Dear families of the Providence Academy ,
It is with great pleasure that I received your invitation to participate in your Christmas party. Thank you for the service and mission you are rendering to the Community in Ottawa.
2015 is passing soon and a New Year is round the corner. I take this opportunity to reflect with you on the real meaning of Christmas in this "Jubilee of Mercy ".
The "sign" that guided the shepherds, is in fact the humility of God taken to the extreme. It is the love with which, that night, he assumed our frailty, our suffering, our desires and our limitations. The message that everyone was expecting, that everyone was searching for, in the depths of his soul, was none other than the Tenderness of God, the Mercy of God: God who looks upon us with eyes full of love, who accepts our poverty , God who is i n love with our smallness.
On the eve of Clu-istmas, while we contemplate the Infant Jesus just born and placed in the manger, let us share the joy of the Gospel: "God so loves us that he gave us his Son to be our brother, to be light in our darkness". This is the soul of Christmas.
I thank in the person of Mother Felicite Daou, the Reverend Sisters whom are providing spiritual and educational guidance to your young ambassadors of faith. I appreciate your efforts, as parents committee, for the well-being of the school to root the well-being of our children, despite the darkness of today's world.
May God make His presence very real to you and your families as you celebrate the birth of our Saviour this season. I wish you and all your loved ones a very blessed Christmas and that 2016 will be filled with grace, joy and peace.
Sincerely,
