On Wednesday, October 14th, Bond competed in the U20 Flag Football Tournament at Fieldstone Day School. For many, on Bond’s team, this was their very first time to participating in the Tournament.
Last year, Bond played in the Flag Football semi-finals, and placed third. A number of last year’s team members graduated, so we have new team with many players from Grade 9.
“This is a rebuilding year for us,” said Ryan Quigley, a Secondary School Teacher and Flag Football Coach at Bond. “I’m impressed by how hard the team was trying, how they worked as a team, how they came together, and their dedication.”
He continued: “All team members showed great commitment, and I’m proud of how well they present the sportsmanship.” For the past two weeks, Mr. Quigley and Mr. Joshua Boldt, another Flag Football Coach at Bond, had been discussing and practicing strategies with the team.
Mr. Quigley commented that the team did well overall, but still needed to work more on the defense strategies and football passing skills. “I believe as we grow, the team will become better!” Mr. Quigley said. He and Mr. Boldt were really proud of the effort put forth by all the Flag Football Team members.
