Fieldstone has long had a strong connection to the arts through dedication to early music instruction and our string instrument programme beginning in Grade One. To highlight the arts and to bring the Fieldstone community together in a celebration of music, Fieldstone was thrilled to host their "Evening of Culture" year-end gala. Parents, students, friends and family were treated to an exceptional concert by a fabulous professional string quartet, appetizers, drinks, mocktails for the students, and the Fieldstone Parents' Association hosted the ever popular teacher auction!
The quartet performed Beethoven's String Quartet Op 132, a new jazz quartet composed by jazz violin phenome Drew Jurecka, and Fieldstone's very own high school music teacher and clarinetist Michael Westwood joined for a performance of Brahms' beautiful Quintet for clarinet and strings Op 115. The 45-member Fieldstone strings joined the quartet for a performance of the school song. Everyone had a fantastic time and it was truly an ideal way to cap off another wonderful school year while celebrating the arts and culture.
