MacLachlan College is more than a school. It is a dynamic, small and inclusive community where teachers guide and facilitate learning by creating real world connections. Our active and collaborative learning environment provides experiences and resources to address our ever-changing world. It is a place where each student is valued as an individual and where a true sense of belonging nurtures a growth mindset.
A MacLachlan education begins when a student walks though our doors. But it doesn’t end there. We are committed to building a lifelong foundation by cultivating intellectual curiosity, engaged citizenship and adaptive learning skills. To meet the needs of each student, traditional classrooms have been transformed with new active learning furnishings at every grade level to accommodate today’s dynamic and social learners with flexible, interactive and collaborative spaces.
MacLachlan College offers a rigorous and challenging co-educational program for students ranging from pre-kindergarten to university entrance. Housed in a beautifully restored circa 1856 mansion in the heart of Oakville, we are the only independent school in Oakville with the International Baccalaureate’s World School designation. By offering the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme in PK-Grade 6 and an inquiry-based curriculum focused on higher-order thinking skills in Grades 7-12, MacLachlan is committed to providing our students with a world-class education that aligns with the hallmark educational standards from which the school was founded in 1978.
MacLachlan College is small by design, offering a supportive and engaging co-educational environment that provides students the opportunity to grow into thoughtful, confident and resilient young adults who are prepared for future success.
