Reading a book is like going on a boundless journey, discovering new places, people and cultures around the world. This year’s I Love to Read/J’aime Lire week may have come to an end but it is certainly not forgotten. It was truly an adventurous week of reading, storytelling, story writing and make-believe. Kicking off the celebration was a Reader’s Theater of “Atlanta and the Great Race” performed by the Grade 5 class. On Wednesday, during a souvenir t-shirt day, and with a delighted assembly audience, Headmaster Mr. St-Pierre shared the story of “Cadeau” taking the entire school on a trip around the world. On Thursday, students were treated to a Cartonera workshop and a Book Voyage Activity inspiring students to create and illustrate! This special week culminated with Pajama Day and Read In, a day when everyone came to school dressed in PJs, and snuggled up with blankets, stuffed animals, flashlights and favourite books to read! It was indeed a jubilant “Journey” at The Priory!
