FRC Team 1360, Orbit Robotics, and Holy Name of Mary College School (HNMCS) hosted the third annual RoboScience Expo community outreach event. The event took place on Saturday 12 May, 2018 from 9am to 3pm at Holy Name of Mary College School (2241 Mississauga Road, Mississauga).
RoboScience Expo hosted students (ages 7-17) from the Greater Toronto Area and comprised numerous STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities, including live action robot displays and contributions from local STEM organizations. This was the perfect opportunity for families in the community to drop-in and get some hands-on experience with STEM. Exciting opportunities available in STEM for today’s youth was showcased through robotics and engineering programs available for elementary, high school and university students. RoboScience Expo collaborated with FIRST Lego League (FLL) teams at the elementary school level; FIRST Robotics Competition teams and VEX Robotics Competition teams at the high school level; and university groups such as the McMaster Engineering EcoCAR 3 Team. There was no cost for admission, however, donations of canned goods were graciously accepted for the Kerr Street Mission Food Bank.
