The Grad Class of 2014 will be remembered in perpetuity!
I am very excited to announce that the Grad Class of 2014 has chosen to give back to their school in a spirited, meaningful and supportive way. This year’s Grads have established the SMS Class of 2014 Endowment Fund. This is SMS’s first such Class endowment, the goal of which is to provide financial support, annually, to a deserving SMS student in the future, once a threshold endowment has been reached.
In the past, it has been customary for SMS Grad Classes to arrange for a Grad Gift to the school. This has been a way for the Grads to ‘give back’ to the school that has done so much for them. This year, the idea was presented to give back in a way that would support future students in attending SMS so that they might experience the same wonderful, challenging, and unique experience these Grads have enjoyed.
Over the past year the Grads have raised funds through various activities and are dedicating a portion of those funds as the seed money to initiate this endowment. Further to their fundraising, and to give back to SMS in a truly meaningful way, each of this year’s Grads has been asked to donate $20.14 (Class of 2014) per year for five years toward their Class Endowment. Each Grad donation will help to grow their fund today and each subsequent donation will help to build a lasting endowment. Now that truly is Servite in Caritate.
This initiative is yet another example of the supportive and giving community we enjoy here at St. Margaret’s School. I am very proud of the mission this year’s grads have enthusiastically embraced. Their actions are creating a life-long connection to, and support for, their school. These truly are Confident Girls quickly becoming Inspiring Women.
