Thetford Academy introduced its first-ever virtual fall play to the public last month, a stellar performance of the murder mystery “Sorry, Wrong Number.” Performed entirely on Google Meet, with post-production support from TA alum and CATV Studio Producer & Education Outreach Coordinator Chico Eastridge, Fall Play students have created something entirely new for their virtual audience.
Despite restrictions due to the current worldwide pandemic, the drama class, under the leadership of John A. Luce, deftly adapted modern technology to pay homage to the pre-screen era.
Based on the critically acclaimed radio play by Lucille Fletcher, “Sorry, Wrong Number” first premiered in 1943. A version produced for the CBS radio series “Suspense” received an Edgar Award for Best Radio Drama. TA drama students updating the play with props, costumes and sound effects, while working to keep the spirit of the original radio version. The result is a fun and suspenseful show well worth watching!
