Catch, air, carve, groove, and kickflip your way into an excellent summer camp experience. Skateboarding camps in Ontario teach you new tricks and how to become a better skateboarder by learning from great teachers as well as fellow campers. These camps are a great way to stay active and outdoors during your break from school. Here, skateboarding is sometimes taught as a specialty or as one of many activities. Camps are held in skate parks or with scheduled time at skate parks. Weather is not an important factor at many of these facilities, as they often have indoor facilities where your son or daughter can practice halfpipes or whatever else they want to work on. Read more

These camps offer diverse skateboarding options (i.e. vert skating on half pipes and skate park vert ramps or other places that are designed just for boarding). Most camps that focus mainly on skateboarding will also mix in other typical camp activities (i.e. swimming, ball hockey, tennis, baseball). These programs are ideal for children under ten who love skating and seek professional instruction to improve their skills and learn from the best. One camper reflected on his experiences at skateboarding camp: "I came in so-so on my board. I loved skateboarding but I wasn’t as good as I wanted to be. The instruction I got was really cool. I am not the best skateboarder I know and all my friends were surprised at how good I got."
Skateboarding camps also make this sport safe, as they typically require participants to wear both knee and elbow pads. In addition, receiving "skateboarding education" from trained professionals helps kids enjoy the boarding in a much safer way outside of camp. Improvement reduces your risk of falls, while practice makes your balance much better.
Safety: What are the camp's safety policies? How will they protect your child? Do you think that their measures are adequate? What kind of qualifications do staff members have?
Focus: Do you seek a camp that only specializes in skateboarding or would you prefer one with a more mixed set of activities? How much emphasis does the camp put on skateboarding?
Philosophy: Is the camp’s focus on competition or improvement? Does it facilitate teamwork?
All camps listed here offer skateboarding activities while those near the top specialize in skateboarding training and teaching. Contact camps to learn more.
