At Roy Thomson Hall on the evening of Friday, May 3, the energy and excitement was high for the Havergal community as more than 2,000 members of the school community gathered for an evening of music, dance and drama. It was a special celebration to mark the school’s 125th milestone anniversary.
In additional to choir, band and dance performances, a group of students and faculty had worked with composer Marie-Claire Saindon for more than a year on an original seven-minute composition, entitled Past, Present and Future: Havergal’s 125th Anniversary Song, which was the finale of the show.
Other highlights of the evening included a group of Junior School students on the steel pan drums, dramatic performances, a beautiful dance, songs from the Junior, Middle and Senior Choirs, the Symphonic band, the Symphony Orchestra and Grade 9 Band and a special video presentation about the making of the 125 song.
To all those who attended the event: thank you for your support! For those who missed it, the videos from the evening are on YouTube (http://bit.ly/Havergal125May3) and Facebook.
