On Friday February 5th, Braemar House School's Grade 7 & 8 students were honored at The Crawford Collective's First Friday Opening Reception as the Guest Artist for the month of February. The Mosaic artwork was created earlier in the Second Term during their workshop with local Mosaic Artist Heather Vollans. It has been on public display all this month in this new local Art Gallery which celebrates it's 1st Anniversary at the end of the month. The students' work is surrounded in the gallery by a a vast array of fine arts and crafts representing 14 Local Artists.
A number of students, parents and staff attended this opening reception. Those in attendance had an opportunity to meet some of the local artists and discuss their art making process. Both classes were presented with a gift by Heather Vollans. The event enjoyed some local media coverage. Below is a link to one of the articles.

The artwork will remain up in the gallery at 4 King Street until Friday February 26. If you get an opportunity, please stop by to see their display.
This experience has been a wonderful opportunity to connect the Arts Program to our Citizenship Program and for our senior students to participate in this "real world" art experience!
