Josiah Cohen, a member of Abelard's graduating class of 2017 (pictured second from the left), has been accepted to Columbia, the second Abelardian in two years to win a coveted spot at this highly competitive school. We are extremely proud of Josiah, who was also the co-winner of this year's Abelard School Gold Medal. While a student at Abelard, Josiah excelled in a broad range of subjects: as a gifted language student of French, Latin and Greek; as a sensitive and insightful student of English Literature; as a passionate student of history and philosophy, and as an inquisitive and dedicated scholar of the maths and sciences. Josiah was fortunate enough to spend a year in Israel between grade 10 and 11, where he kept in touch by writing an informative and entertaining blog titled Abelard in Israel in which he shared his thoughts and impressions with his teachers and peers back in Toronto. While we will miss Josiah immensely, we wish him great success and know that he will be a true asset to Columbia.
