The Abelard School is pleased to announce that Grade 12 student Sivan Piatigorsky-Roth has been granted early acceptance to Wesleyen University in Connecticut. At Wesleyen, which is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher education in the United States, Sivan will pursue her passion for literary studies, creative writing and studies in the humanities. While at Abelard, Sivan has distinguished herself both in class and outside the school. An avid reader, her current enthusiasm is for Herman Melville's Moby Dick. An extremely talented writer, she has been a regular contributor to the Abelard Literary Journal and the school newspaper. Outside the school, she has been published twice in the Toronto Public Library's Young Voices literary magazine (in 2013 and 2015), and last year was the winner of the fiction (under 18) category of Carleton University's Passages literary competition. Sivan was also awarded a Diller Teen Fellowship in 2014 for leadership development.
We are remarkably proud of her, and wish her great success!
